WashU Epigenome Day 2016 Workshop
WASHU EPIGENOME BROWSER
Description
WashU Epigenome Day 2016 consists of a full day of seminars and workshops, highlighting epigenomics resources generated by large consortia including the ENCODE and Roadmap Epigenomics projects. The ENCODE project investigators employ a variety of assays and methods to build a comprehensive parts list of functional elements in the human genome, including elements that act at the protein and RNA levels, and regulatory elements that control cells and circumstances in which a gene is active. The Roadmap Epigenomics project produces a public resource of human epigenomic data to catalyze basic biology and disease-oriented research.
As genomics education continues to be a need in biomedical research, a goal of Epigenome Day 2016 is to expose the publicly available epigenomics databases for biomedical research via seminars, and to help participants learn how to engage these resources through interactive hands-on workshops. These sessions will be presented by experts leading the ENCODE project, the Roadmap Epigenomics project and other large scale biomedical genomics research projects.
